IP65 outdoor rope lights are dust-tight and protected against water jets under defined test conditions, so they are suitable for normal outdoor rain and splashes when every connector and cut end is correctly sealed. IP65 does not mean the lights can be submerged, left in standing water, cleaned with a pressure washer, or installed with open connections. IP65 in Plain English
